Graduate Recruitment
Here at Fraser Offshore we believe that drilling engineering is a true vocation; a lifetime career in which expertise has worldwide application. Mastery of drilling engineering does not come quickly - skills and experience must be acquired over several years and many wells in order to achieve a standalone level of competence.
Fraser Offshore's Drilling Engineering Training Scheme (DETS) combines classroom training with a structured programme of work, including entry level drill crew experience and well-informed mentoring. The DETS is delivered over a 3-5 year period. The training is flexible and is tailored to meet individual requirement and the availability of real-life work assignments. Duration of training is dependent upon entry-level experience and individual progress.
Fraser Offshore recruits trainees on an annual basis and demand for our training is high. As a minimum we ask for a 2:1 degree in mechanical or mining engineering, strong technical and team working skills, initiative, self-reliance and a willingness to travel and work offshore. Often we ask for more; masters level study, prior exposure to life in the oil/gas sector, evidence of personal achievement.
Our training is necessarily demanding but the rewards are high. Individuals completing the DETS will acquire top end skills that bring with them a well paid career and worldwide opportunities.
Further information regarding the DETS Programme can be obtained by contacting Alison Brown, HR & Training Manager, Fraser Offshore Limited, Beacon Innovation Centre, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk NR31 7RA; email abrown@fraseroffshore.com.
Please note that the deadline for applications for commencement in 2010 has now passed.
