Our people are respected in the industry as well engineering specialists; disciplines include drilling superintendents, drilling and completions engineers, well services and subsea engineers, offshore drilling supervisors, onshore and offshore logistics specialists, drilling contracts and well cost specialists.
Organised in client teams, FOL people are skilled in well planning and wellsite supervision. Personnel safety, protection of the environment and large investments are at stake so this work demands rigorous planning, effective teamwork and total commitment. Each project team operates much like a traditional oil company drilling department, with core disciplines supplemented as necessary by support groups working across rig teams. Professionalism is paramount.
Our skills are rooted in the Southern North Sea (SNS), where complex geology presents many technical challenges. The area has been intensively drilled for over forty years, but in recent years drilling campaigns have become shorter, resulting in the fragmentation of key skills. At the same time, with the advent of long-reach wells and fracture stimulation, wells have become more complex. Well teams assembled for short campaigns often need to re-learn operational lessons, at considerable cost to the Operator. FOL project teams have unrivalled, continuous SNS experience. FOL core personnel have experience in front-line engineering and management roles on more than 120 SNS wells for eight well Operators. Their experience is fully up-to-date and is drawn from hands-on supervisory and managerial positions.
FOL offers its services under straightforward and transparent commercial arrangements, capitalising on its low-overhead business model to offer unrivalled value. Fraser Offshore does not promote its own corporate identity. Project teams contracted to oil and gas company clients adopt their policies and objectives. As a result they do, quite literally, wear the client's hat.
FOL operates from a high-quality operations base at Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, offering firewalled office space with security-controlled access, shared conference areas and fast, robust servers. FOL maintains an edge in cost-effective logistics support for SNS wells through close proximity to heliports, marine shorebases and the specialist service companies with real SNS experience.
