WELL ENGINEERING
Our degree-educated drilling engineers are the product of a rigorous training programme, designed to ensure competence and effective teamwork. The programme starts with entry-level rig crew work and progresses through office-based and wellsite engineering and supervisory positions. Our training places strong emphasis on HSE management, well integrity and management of change, together with specialist technical disciplines including well control, well design, performance drilling and drillstring design.

SAFE HANDS
Offshore drilling is potentially hazardous. In the wake of the 2010 Macondo disaster, a new wave of scrutiny and regulation is gaining momentum in the offshore drilling industry.  FOL clients are accountable to shareholders and to government for avoiding spills, injuries and blowouts. Shouldering this responsibility requires attention to detail in all aspects of well design and well operations; cornerstones of the FOL service.

CONTROLLING WELL COST
Control of well costs is vital. Well designs are becoming more complex; well spend has increased significantly as a proportion of development cost. Effective control of well costs is not achieved by Monte Carlo simulations or hastily-assembled well teams. Rigorous planning, high-quality supervision and the application of field-proven learnings are essential.

VALUE FOR MONEY
Fraser Offshore staff are the best in the business. Overheads, however, are tightly controlled. FOL is structured to offer outstanding value for money, with a flat management structure and a no-frills approach; our rig teams have a healthy aversion to the gold-plating which can afflict offshore activity. FOL holds over 50 contracts with carefully chosen service companies providing downhole tools, well tangibles and logistics.

REPRESENTING CLIENTS
FOL rig teams work in accordance with client policies and client objectives, often adopting the client's corporate identity. Our customers are licence holders who have worked hard to achieve that status in the eyes of the government and regulatory bodies. It is important to us that we represent them to the outside world with utmost professionalism.

INDEPENDENT
Fraser Offshore is a private, owner-managed company. We work closely with drilling contractors and service companies but are entirely independent, free to act in the best interests of our clients.
